I think the things I don't get fit into your categories, I guess that means I'm a conservative. I've lived in Portland Oregon for goodness sakes you'd think I'd have been able to understand these things having so many liberal friends, but nope, it hasn't worked. I hope you are able to bring some clarification and understanding to these topics.

I don't get the idea of taxing only the wealthy. I get that government needs money to run, but why do the people who benefit the least from government have to pay the most for it, and those who benefit most from it pay nothing to it?

I really don't get the plight of minorities. I've grown up in the military, lived a lot of places, and seen a lot of cultures. Race never entered my mind growing up, making friends or in business. I hear how minorities are repressed, but I haven't seen it. In fact I've seen the opposite, in some places where minorities are in the majority I've seen reverse discrimination. The simplest example is in sports. I see it in professional sports, but it exists even at a very basic level. I've been denied the opportunity to play soccer because of preconceived notions about white people's skill simply because I'm not Hispanic. I've had similar experiences with basketball for not being black.

I don't get the idea that if you have a problem you should petition the government to fix it.
